To mitigate the impact of the layoffs on its employees, BlackBuck provided an attractive severance package that was more than the stipulated norms. The company also assured its employees of their pending dues, such as leave gratuity and salary settlements.
Rajesh Yabaji, CEO and co-founder of BlackBuck, acknowledged the impact of the pandemic on logistics operations, leading to the layoffs. He added, “The past month has been difficult for us as we mourned the sudden loss of one of our employees. The COVID-19 pandemic has further compounded this situation.”
The logistics industry has been deeply impacted by the pandemic, and companies like BlackBuck had to take tough measures such as layoffs. However, the company’s actions in providing a sizeable severance package showed its commitment to employees and a desire to maintain goodwill. Moreover, BlackBuck has already witnessed a growth in demand since the lifting of restrictions and expects a full recovery soon.
